Many consider the butterfly to be the most beautiful creature in the insect world. Who could argue the point? Called K’aalógii in the Navajo language. Butterflies had a role in Native American Mythology. The Hopi had a Butterfly Clan. The Cherokee had a butterfly dance.
Believing the butterfly represented sleep and dreaming they were often used to decorate cradleboards. Other tribes believed butterflies brought good luck and it was often taboo to kill a butterfly.
This piece measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 7 inches. Cut from 12 gauge hot rolled steel and hand painted and detailed with acrylic paint and glitter. The paints are UV protected. Each piece is hand painted and detailed with its own unique design and color scheme, so no two will be exactly the same.
We do not carry a large inventory. We cater to you our Customer, for this reason, we usually cut orders as we receive them. In this way, if you require the piece to be modified (color, special hangers, etc) then we can accommodate your needs, usually without extra charges. As a rule, the only extra charge we will make will be for larger sizes…This requires us to put a fifteen day shipping time on the piece. Most of the time we ship sooner rather than later.
Unless requested by a Customer we do not use clip art or purchased designs. Like our other designs, this is an in-house Copyrighted© design. This is an heirloom quality piece that will be appreciated for generations to come.
